Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 675 SoC

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 7 in China earlier this month as the first device under its new sub-brand Redmi. At the event, the company had announced that it will soon launch the Redmi Note 7 Pro as an upgrade over the Redmi Note 7.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 was launched with a 48-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL GM1 sensor and the company had announced that the Redmi Note 7 Pro will feature the Sony IMX586 sensor. Now, reports have revealed that along with a new sensor, the Redmi Note 7 Pro will also offer an upgrade in terms of the SoC.
As per a post on Weibo, the Redmi Note 7 Pro will be powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 SoC. The Snapdragon 675 chipset was announced by Qualcomm in September 2018 as an upgrade to the Snapdragon 670 SoC.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 is based on the 11nm process technology and has 6 efficiency cores and 2 performance cores. It features support for Quick Charge 4+ and has the ability to capture Ultra-HD (4K at 30 FPS) videos with Motion Compensated Temporal Filtering and HD (720p) video recording at 480 FPS.
Apart from this, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro is expected to feature the same specifications as the Redmi Note 7, including a 6.3-inch Full HD+ display, 48-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual rear camera setup, 13-megapixel selfie camera and a 4,000mAh battery.
The Weibo post suggests that the price of the device will be CNY 1,499 (Rs 15,720 approx.) and the post compares this price to the Redmi Note 7’s 6GB RAM variant’s price of CNY 1,399 (Rs 14,670 approx.), suggesting that we may see only one variant of the Redmi Note 7 Pro.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro is expected to be launched next month, sometime near the Chinese New Year. We should know more about the device in the coming days.
